Board staff said Earthstones Cafe requested extra time after construction and utility work delayed its planned opening; commissioners approved an extension of the cafe’s license approval to Sept. 30 to avoid repeated return visits. Ridgely Exxon requested 30 days to complete HVAC and environmental inspections related to gas pumps; the board likewise extended the approval through Sept. 30.
During the inspector’s report, staff described a busy month of inspections tied to Summerfest and other events. The inspector outlined educational enforcement for new establishments and said temporary-license holders are being monitored. The board reviewed the 2023 license inventory breakdown (beer and wine classes and beer/wine/liquor classes) and staff reported total license fee revenue of $47,450 for 2023.
Members asked for amendments and posting of any updated rules and regs online once adopted; staff confirmed they will publish rule amendments after approval. The board also noted a calendar change: the October meeting was moved to Oct. 16, and the next regular meeting is Sept. 25.
