Crisfield council adopts updated critical-area zoning ordinance

The ordinance updates the city's map and text to ensure the local code is not less stringent than state law, staff said.
During debate, council members said they found no significant public opposition during the two planning-panel hearings and a prior first reading. A council member moved to approve Ordinance 7-35; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
The ordinance now moves into effect shortly after final administrative processing, and copies are available at city hall, staff said. The council noted the update is part of routine periodic alignment with state mapping requirements and does not add new, large-scale land-use restrictions beyond current state mandates.
The council's action was procedural; no separate vote tallies were recorded in the meeting minutes.
