At their March 12 meeting the Walkersville Town Commissioners approved a set of administrative and action items in unanimous votes.
Key outcomes at a glance: - Escrow release: Commissioners approved releasing $24,959 in remaining escrow funds to Lonza, following staff recommendation. - Appointments: Linda Morgan and Lee Ann Tennant were reappointed to the Economic Development Commission. - Surplus property: The 2007 Chevy dump truck was sold to the highest bidder, Chad Barrick of Barrick and Sons, for $9,200. - Parks approvals: The Homeschool Soccer League (April 3–May 29) and the Boogie Bears triathlon club (April 28–July 30) were approved for park use; the soccer league will perform sweat-equity maintenance. - Minutes and finance: The board approved the Feb. 26 minutes (including a closed-session summary) and authorized payment of accounts payable/checks.
All listed motions passed by unanimous recorded votes of the commissioners present (4–0). Where votes referenced legal bases for closed sessions, staff cited the Annotated Code of Maryland (Article 3 §3-305(b)(3)). The board then held a budget workshop to review capital projects.
