At its July 7 meeting the Casco Select Board handled several procedural but consequential items.
Appointments and vacancies: The board appointed Daniel (Dan) Grotto to the finance committee with a term ending June 30, 2028 after he described a long background in banking and financial services. The board also approved appointments to fill committee vacancies: Tom McCarthy was appointed planning-board alternate (term to 2029) and Amy Brown was appointed to the CPIC (term to 2027).
Liquor license: With the chair recused for that item, the board voted to approve the liquor-license renewal application for Point Sebago and forward the application to the Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations for final state action. The recorded outcome in the meeting was four votes in favor and one abstention.
Routine approvals: The board approved the meeting agenda and warrants and accepted minutes from the June 16 meeting (with one abstention noted on the minutes vote). Several administrative updates — including vacancies, MMA policy committee nominations and committee schedules — were also handled during the meeting.
