During communications and announcements at the July 12 meeting, village staff and trustees highlighted several upcoming community events and resources.
The clerk enumerated programs including a Cook County Health $100 gift-card vaccination incentive through July 15 (age 6 months and older at participating CCH locations; appointment required), New Friendship Choir reunion July 15 celebrating a church centennial, Unity in the Community on July 23 (villagewide peace walk beginning at Dollar Tree and a trunk party at the Robbins Community Center), scholarships for Robbins high-school and junior-high graduates with a July 16 deadline for proof of residency applications, and the Pullman Block Party July 16 in Chicago. The Robbins Community Garden requested volunteers and donations (eggshells and coffee grounds) and provided a contact number for Kyiesha Hill.
Trustees also noted the Robbins Friends of the Park golf outing set for Sept. 2 with sponsorship opportunities. These items were presented as announcements; no formal board action was taken.
