The Board of License Commissioners approved two transfer applications at the July meeting, subject to the usual county permit and insurance requirements.
Case 6621: Chintan Patel appeared to request transfer of the Village Store & Diner (6694 Middleburg Road, Keymar) from Mary Catherine Crushong. Patel described prior retail and 7-Eleven experience and promised staff training, a no-vertical-ID policy and counterfeit-ID checks at point-of-sale. Owner Mary Catherine Crushong confirmed the pending sale; character witnesses spoke in support. The board approved the transfer subject to completion of county permits and inspections and receipt of requisite documentation.
Iliano family transfers: The board approved a family transfer for Iliano's J & P restaurant, granting the license to Antonio Iliano pending the liability-certificate stipulation discussed at the dais. The new owner and family witnesses described long-running restaurant experience; the board recorded the approval with a condition that the insurance certificate be submitted.
In both matters the board emphasized compliance with health and building requirements, submission of certificate(s) of insurance and, where applicable, worker's compensation documentation before finalizing the transfer in the office records.
