Presenter outlines phone-system security concerns; board takes no action

County officials reviewed vendor proposals for a new phone system and discussed security and cost implications before choosing to take no action.

Participants noted the State Election Board has previously recommended separating phones and data lines. The Clerk said the county’s current phone bill was in the range of about $600–$610 and that the new system would affect ongoing monthly costs. After discussion about timing (work could not start until after an upcoming election) and unclear scope for cleanup work, the Chair and Clerk recorded a motion to 'take no action' on the purchase at this meeting, leaving the matter for future clarification.
