The Anderson County Commission Budget Committee on June 4 approved opioid‑recovery contracts recommended by the county's opioid committee and a broad slate of consent items and transfers.
Robbie presented the opioid contract list and a commissioner corrected the count of awards (some projects shown on the list were grayed out and not funded). Staff said the county will issue a press release listing all award recipients and will present projects to the commission at a future meeting scheduled for June 18.
In consent business the committee approved multiple grouped transfers and departmental items: year‑end cleanup transfers 1–22, school transfers 23–26, highway items 27–30, tourism item 31, finance items 32–45, library items 46–49, sheriff items 50–52, and new‑business budget amendments 1–6. The committee also accepted a $10,019.20 donation from Tennessee Veterans Museum funds subject to adding the mayor’s signature to the agreement and clarifying wording that the county is not assuming nonprofit assets.
On elections, the committee approved a $20,037.14 transfer to cover poll‑worker payroll and May primary costs; staff said some of those costs (printing, maintenance and security upgrades) are expected to be state‑reimbursed, though reimbursement timing is uncertain. Several motions passed by voice votes during the meeting.
What comes next: a press release and a follow‑up presentation will list opioid award recipients and provide project details; staff will implement transfers and contract approvals as recorded in the budget minutes.
