ZBA grants six-month extension for Sherman Farm permit application

The Town of Bedford Zoning Board of Appeals approved a six-month time extension for Sherman Farm LLC’s permit at 550 Guard Hill Road.
The board’s clerk read the application and relevant prior resolutions and coverage figures for the residential 4-acre district. Neil Alexander, an attorney for the applicant, said the team had submitted a building-permit application to the building department and asked for a one-year extension. Board members said that because the permit application had been filed, a six-month extension would be sufficient. The board voted by consensus to grant six months and noted the applicant must continue to diligently pursue the building permit.
The extension is administrative — it preserves the applicant’s right to pursue construction while the town’s building department completes its review. The board did not attach additional special conditions beyond the standard expectation that the applicant secure the required permits and provide documentation to the building department if the permit is delayed.
