At the June 2 meeting the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council approved several administrative items by roll call, appointed chairs to advisory committees and held ceremonial recognitions for local volunteers and businesses.
On appointments, the council announced a unanimous result for Civic Center Advisory Committee chair Mr. O'Brien and approved a staff-recommended slate naming Eric Nollman as Planning Commission chair, James Sprinkle as EPC chair, John McAllister as FACT chair, Brian Hague as IMAC chair, and John Tai as Traffic Safety Committee chair. The appointment votes were taken by roll call and passed unanimously.
The council also approved its consent calendar without objection and recognized Peninsula Taphouse — a family-owned restaurant at Golden Cove Center — and thanked outgoing members of the Youth Advisory Committee for their service. Several youth members described their experiences advising council on issues such as an e-bike ordinance and participation in district advocacy.
Council members used the reports portion of the meeting to thank staff, highlight a wildfire-safety expo and note Memorial Day events on the peninsula before adjourning.
