Mayor John G. Compton asked the council to confirm his appointment of William Earl to the Planning Commission for a five-year term beginning July 1 and to the Historic Preservation Commission for a three-year term. The council confirmed both appointments by 6-0 votes.
Separately, Councilor Kriss Grisham reported that the McCathran Hall sprinkler system hydro static test passed that day. Remaining tasks include final inspections, ceiling restoration, installation of the nitrogen system, and painting; the council noted a target for completion of the project around April 23. The mayor recognized Councilor Grisham for his role in keeping the project on schedule.
The council also noted upcoming community engagement on neighborhood safety with Officer Romano of the Montgomery County Police Department and several minor recreation and facility updates in council reports.
