Shell Lake council approves engineering payment, edits parking citation process and authorizes ATV campground advertising; Winter Fest set for Feb. 15

At its Feb. 10 meeting, the Shell Lake City Council handled several administrative items, approved an engineering payment, and shared community announcements.
The council approved payment for engineering services provided by SEH above the contracted amount for additional requested services relating to the Doboy lift station project; roll call recorded six yes votes and the motion carried unanimously. Ken Schultz moved and Deb Nebel moved to approve editing the parking violation citation/process to reflect the Chief of Police’s recommendation; the council approved the edit unanimously and Schultz thanked the Chief.
Council also authorized advertising the ATV campground in the Washburn County Official Hwy/Trail Map and the Rolling Hills Snowmobile/ATV Club Map for 2025–2026 after a motion by Mike Andrews and a second by Ken Schultz. Financial Administration approved vouchers 1–102 on a unanimous motion; Stephen Smith presented the budget status report.
Mayor Rowie Hansberger announced the Shell Lake Winter Fest, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., highlighting ice fishing organized by Tom Rasmussen and a visit by a local pro team that will include signing hockey pucks. The mayor also thanked Bonnie Reno for repair work on city hall windows and doors.
The meeting record shows no public comments during the designated comment period and the council adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
