Shell Lake council adopts ATV/UTV speed limits, extends ambulance contract and approves 2026 campsite rates

The Shell Lake City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance #3-2025 on April 14, 2025, setting All-Terrain and Utility Terrain Vehicle speed limits on North Lake Drive, South Lake Drive and East Lake Drive.
Rob Anderson moved adoption of the ordinance and Mike Andrews seconded; the measure carried unanimously. The ordinance number is recorded in the council minutes as #3-2025 and applies to the three named road segments in the Shell Lake area.
The council also approved Amendment No. 2 to the ambulance agreement, a two-year extension presented by City Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer Andrew Eiche. Mike Andrews moved approval and Deb Nebel seconded; the extension passed unanimously.
Parks and Recreation business included a motion to keep 2026 rates for the Lake and ATV campgrounds unchanged. Terry Severson moved the measure, Deb Nebel seconded, and the council voted unanimously in favor.
On financial matters, Stephen Smith moved and Terry Severson seconded approval of vouchers numbered 229–336; the council approved the vouchers unanimously. Smith also presented a budget status report to the council.
Mayor Rowie Hansberger announced an appointment to the Shell Lake Plan Commission, naming Dan Diekman; the announcement appears in the minutes but no confirmation vote is recorded in the transcript. The meeting concluded with a reminder of a reorganizational meeting scheduled for April 15 at 5:30 p.m. and an adjournment at 7:38 p.m. (motion to adjourn by Stephen Smith, seconded by Ken Schultz).
