"It has no place here…It’s an un American enterprise," Erisery said, describing the removal request and urging the council to "look into the matter for the sake of the veterans bearing this hateful insult." Lou Seldin (introduced by the mayor) recounted the same episode in greater detail and said his group was cleared by responding police after the complaint.
The presiding official acknowledged staff follow‑up already occurred and asked Economic Development staff (identified as Anna Erwin) to meet with the commenters after the meeting to gather details and pursue any appropriate next steps. Council staff advised citizens to submit photos or reports via the citizen portal to assist an inquiry.
No formal council action was taken during public comment; staff committed to follow up with the individuals who spoke.
