Eve, the event presenter, told the council the city’s Keller 250 "Color Lights" celebration will include the Emerald City Band (7:30–9:30 p.m.), a coordinated drone show and an expanded 20‑minute fireworks display beginning at 9:40 p.m. She said organizers will provide a 40‑by‑100 tent for shade and multiple cooling units to support attendees during daytime activities.
"This is our new updated logo…this is what's gonna be promoted on the hype video and all social media," Eve said, outlining entertainment, vendor and volunteer plans. She described roaming acts, four face painters, four balloon artists and multiple photo‑op backdrops, and said merch will include branded T‑shirts (arriving around June 19) and replica jerseys with preorder options.
Council members asked about crowd size and counting methods. Eve said staff and economic development use several measures — permit/attendance programming, drone footage and aggregated cell‑phone pings — to estimate "on average, we have 25,000 to 30,000" attendees, weather dependent.
Organizers confirmed limited on‑site alcohol (a beer trailer and a mixed‑drink truck) and described sponsorship tiers from $500 up to a $10,000 presenting sponsor; staff said sponsorship revenue helps offset event costs, including giveaways such as foam batons (initially 5,000 ordered with plans to increase supply). The chair praised the event team and suggested staff will coordinate parking passes and other logistics with council members once shirts and swag arrive.
The event update was presented as part of the council’s consent agenda and work‑session items; staff will continue final planning and vendor coordination ahead of July 3.
