Miss Sherritt reported that Greene County participants competed in New Bern against five other counties; 15 locals competed and won 25 gold, 12 silver and 7 bronze medals. She said all who competed qualified for state finals in September and named several participants, inviting them to be recognized.
Separately, a presenter announced a town hall at Greene County DSS on June 25 at 6:00 p.m. focused on food and nutrition benefits and related policies; the presenter invited community involvement. Chair also reminded commissioners about an upcoming high school graduation at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and logistical arrangements for attendance.
