County department heads used the agenda-setting session to announce the resolutions they will bring to the board during the regular meeting and to update commissioners on project status.
Prosecutor William Daniels’ office has three resolutions on the agenda and the sheriff’s office reported two, while other departments outlined their items: Finance (10 resolutions), Human Services (6), Engineering/Public Works and Facilities (5), Economic Development (4), Parks and Recreation (3), and County Counsel (5).
Parks Director Victoria Durban Drake described a change order that increases the vendor spending authority to allow use of already-approved capital funds to upgrade guardrails at Lenape Park. Drake also said a separate change order for the county’s ice-skating rink project largely reflects delay claims the county received because it had to comply with enforcement policies from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. "This change order represents... delay claims that we had because of enforcement policies we had to follow the NJDEP," Drake said, and added that the project remains on schedule with hopes to finish in June or July 2027.
Commissioner Marabella commended the county’s deer management program, saying it reduces traffic hazards and tick-related risks and praising staff and volunteers who carry out the program. Departments characterized several other line items as housekeeping actions — for example, reallocating previously approved grant awards to the proper accounts — and said they would answer questions during the regular meeting. The agenda-setting session concluded with a motion to adjourn and an affirmative voice vote; the board then moved directly into the regular meeting.
No formal votes on the departmental resolutions were recorded during this agenda-setting portion of the meeting.
