Merrimac Board of Assessors approves routine items, reviews veterans’ exemptions in executive session

The Town of Merrimac Board of Assessors met at Merrimac Town Hall on March 9, 2026, and conducted routine administrative business before adjourning at 4:35 p.m. The members present — Gena Sinibaldi, Daniel Domings, Heather Roche and Madison Fortier — approved and signed the minutes from the Feb. 18, 2026 meeting, signed warrants, approved motor-vehicle excise abatement applications and initialed three 3ABC exemption forms.
During an open discussion, Heather Roche, representing the assessor’s office staff, said, “LA3, permits, cyclicals and supplementals are all in motion,” and added that “MIMAP adjustments are set to be underway soon.” The remarks summarized the office’s current processing status for filings and mapping adjustments.
The board then convened an executive session under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30A, Section 21, to review FY2026 veteran exemption applications. While in executive session the members reviewed and signed the veteran exemption forms; the meeting record notes the board did not reconvene in public following the executive session.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:35 p.m. The Board of Assessors scheduled its next meeting for 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Merrimac Town Hall.
