At its June 23, 2026 meeting in Meredith, the Prescott Park Renovation Committee reviewed a conceptual master plan for Prescott Park and a corresponding Estimate of Anticipated Construction Cost. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Dan Curnyn, who confirmed a quorum and presided over routine business, including approval of the February 5, 2026 minutes (motion by Greg Smith; second by Joan Aiken). The motion carried; a vote tally was not specified.
Consultant Jeff Hyland of Ironwood Group provided the committee with an overview of the proposed improvements and a synopsis of the cost estimate derived from the master plan concept. Committee members discussed how the project could be phased. Vint Choiniere noted the importance of coordinating phasing with the athletic department’s schedules to avoid disrupting programs and events.
The committee agreed to seek a public presentation of the master plan at a Board of Selectman meeting. Meredith Parks and Recreation Director Krystal Alpers will contact the Town Manager to request placement on the Selectboard agenda; Hyland will present alongside representatives from Gale and SMP. No dollar amounts for the overall estimate were provided in the meeting summary; the cost estimate was discussed in principle and will be presented in more detail at future briefings.
Committee members and consultants held general discussion about phasing and next steps, and the group identified several follow-up items to prepare for the Selectboard presentation and subsequent public outreach. The meeting closed with scheduling the next committee meeting for July 14, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. (a Zoom link will be provided).
