The Shorewood Hills Board on April 21 authorized the Village Administrator to accept Payne & Dolan's bid package for the 2026 street improvement project totaling $163,181.06 plus a 10% contingency.
Tim Stieve presented the bids and described the proposed work. Trustees approved a motion M/S Ullsvik/Lotfi authorizing the administrator to accept Payne & Dolan's base bid, alternate bid 1, alternate bid 2 and the supplemental bid with a 10% contingency. The motion carried. Trustees questioned the extent of supplemental bid items and who would provide inspections; Stieve said straightening the road would require a separate bid. Stieve also explained that one bidder's submission appeared to be six times higher than competitors' likely due to an error in their submission.
The authorization allows the village to proceed with scheduling and procurement steps subject to the contingency. No specific start date was set at the meeting.
