The board reviewed committee reports that described volunteer and staff maintenance across parks. Glenn Kramer and a participant named Kathy reported spring cleanup at Wehner Park; Beth Parker and Christine McDermott will help with pollinator-garden weeding and the beautification crew is considering honeysuckle removal this fall, possibly in coordination with Public Works.
The board discussed memorial trees: Beth Parker will assist with selection and Glenn Kramer said he has contacts for sourcing. The minutes note a policy point that if a memorial tree survives one year the city is no longer responsible for it. Additional park-specific items included a sealed path and pavilion repairs at Brinkop Park (reported by Amy George), a possible swing-set removal and tennis-court repairs at Ackfeld Park (raised by Chris Buck), and seeding needs in Hartry Park.
The director reported that Public Works was tasked with digging out buried concrete, the pool is scheduled to close this weekend and the Fall Festival is scheduled for October. The board set its next meeting for Oct. 15, 2025.
