Richmond City Council honors Richmond High School trap team after state championship

The Richmond City Council on Monday adopted Resolution 2026-12 congratulating the Richmond High School trap team for winning the 2026 Division 2A state championship in the Michigan State High School Clay Target League. The resolution says the team finished with a combined score of 484 out of 500.
Mayor (speaker 1) read the resolution aloud and asked members of the team and coaching staff to stand. The mayor singled out Nolan Palumbo, who led the team with a 98 out of 100, and named other top shooters including Matt Shotti, Wyatt Bowers, Dave Collins and Nicholas Palumbo.
A coach or team representative (Coach, speaker 5) thanked the council and described the effort required to win, saying “A lot of work went into this… Over 1,000 rounds of kids shot this year” and noting long practice days and tournament travel. Council members congratulated the team and noted that the accomplishment brings civic pride to Richmond.
The resolution, carried by voice vote, recognizes the team, its coaches and supporting parents and will be signed by the city council.
