The Campbellsville City Council convened at 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 20, 2026. Chair (S2) called the meeting to order, led the agenda review and oversaw the night’s routine business.
Council members unanimously approved the minutes and the financial report after motions and seconds were offered. The council moved quickly through departmental reports and said there were no questions.
Under new business, the council discussed a surplus police vehicle the city no longer needed. A council member (S1) explained the vehicle “no longer has needed” for city use and the chair recorded a motion to transfer the vehicle to the local school; the motion was seconded in the meeting record and the council voted to approve the transfer.
Later the council voted to enter an executive session under 'KRS 61.81 subsection 1 c' to discuss proposed or pending litigation against or on behalf of the city. The transcript records a motion to enter executive session, a second, and an affirmative recorded vote. After reconvening in open session the chair stated: “Anything no action taken.”
During general remarks, a council member (S4) publicly thanked EMS for transporting them to Louisville and asked why "animals has cost so much," expressing concern about the expense; the chair said he would pass the thanks along to EMS. The meeting adjourned after a final motion and second.
The council did not record any formal ordinance readings, appointments, or budget adoptions at this session. The executive session was held under the statutory authority cited in the meeting record; no formal action resulting from that session was recorded during open session.
