Academic emphasis and facilities: Adrian Arnold (introduced during the meeting) urged the board to focus the recovery plan on academics rather than only budget measures, suggested creating a task force to bring reading levels up to grade level by third grade and sought updates on locker-room renovations and a creative-writing textbook purchase. Arnold also volunteered to serve on a proposed task force.
Student report: Daniel Stewart, senior class president for STEM Academy, reported on senior commitments (college acceptances posted on the senior-class page), senior prom and trips (visit to the Black Lives Museum in Baltimore and a planned June trip to Dorney Park), and rehearsals and graduation logistics leading up to the June commencement.
What the board promised: The Chair said questions and concerns raised during public comment will be posted with responses on the district website within three business days where possible and acknowledged the need to investigate transportation complaints and communication protocols following safety incidents.
