Marquette County Department of Human Services Director Mandy Stanley updated the board June 9 on staffing, client placements and an equipment failure that affected nutrition services.
Stanley said the department accepted an offer for a Children’s Long Term Support (CLTS) worker who is expected to begin in late June and that three therapists are now staffed in the clinic. She reported five adults and two children are currently in out‑of‑home care placements and that, in one case, one of four clinic individuals is receiving some funding back for placement. An offer for a Billing Specialist was declined and a pending offer for a Meal Transporter remained outstanding at the time of the meeting. Lynn Schwochert was listed to be added to the consent agenda as a citizen member.
Stanley also reported an operational disruption: "The Nutrition cooler broke down for 2 weeks, so they utilized food bank truck in the meantime," and said replacement planning is underway; the Aging and Disability Services Unit later noted cooler replacement was scheduled for 2027 after 22 years of service. Stanley said the department has scheduled coordination meetings with law enforcement on June 15 and has met with EMS regarding crisis clients.
