Reserve funding: By unanimous roll call vote the board established designated reserves for 2025 as follows: $93,000 for public safety; $13,000 for future assessment services; $72,731.56 for Holland Town Hall improvements; and $385,000 for the transportation designated reserve. The minutes note the transportation designated reserve balance was $575,318.39 as of Dec. 9, 2024 and that $190,318.39 will be removed from that reserve to be applied to 2024 road betterment expenses.
Equipment purchase and procurement: The board approved the purchase of a Komatsu mini‑excavator with a post‑hole auger and trailer for an amount not to exceed $110,000. The minutes list intended vendors: Rolland Machinery for the mini‑excavator and Knowles Produce and Trading Company for the post‑hole auger. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Land divisions and administrative changes: The board accepted Plan Commission recommendations to approve a minor land division for Tanner and Sarah Monahan (W4037 County Road RR) and for Rhonda Anderson (N1838 County Road KW), each contingent on recordable certified survey maps and Sheboygan County approval. The board also voted to eliminate the Sheboygan Press as the town’s official newspaper and indicated it may use local outlets such as The Sounder or Lakeshore Weekly for some notices.
Other matters and logistics: Chair Huenink reported an imminent memorandum of understanding with Wisconsin Power and Light Company concerning road repair payments tied to the Onion River solar utility construction; a payment to the town is expected in the near future. Clerk‑Treasurer Janelle Kaiser announced that 2024 property tax bills will be mailed by the Sheboygan County Treasurer on or before the third Monday in December and noted upcoming office closures.
