Troy swears in firefighter-EMT Joe Schricker

The council held a brief induction and oath for newly appointed firefighter-EMT Joe Schricker on July 5. Officials said Schricker is a 2018 Troy High School graduate, completed the State of Ohio Fire Academy (Firefighter II) and the State Fire Academy EMS training, and is now certified as Firefighter Level 2 and an EMT‑Basic. During the ceremony Schricker raised his right hand and repeated the oath to support and defend the constitutions of the United States and the State of Ohio and to "faithfully and impartially discharge my duties." Council members and city leaders congratulated Schricker and noted he is a recipient of a hometown apprenticeship scholarship through the Troy Foundation.
