The Town of Cecilton's mayor and council handled routine business at the Nov. 18 meeting, approving prior meeting minutes and the town’s October financials and agreeing to a community donation and upcoming events.
Member Sue Katzmire moved to accept the Oct. 21 regular session minutes as written; Member Craig DeVary seconded and the motion carried. Member Jennie Brockell moved to accept the October final financials; Member Hester Wise seconded and the motion carried. During public-safety remarks, Deputy Walmsley reported the Sheriff's Department will provide coverage for the community parade.
Member Katzmire also moved that the town donate the same amount as it did last year to the Chesapeake City New Year's Day Race; Member Brockell seconded and the motion carried. The transcript did not specify the dollar amount of the donation.
