Alcoa Middle School reports rising performing-arts participation, awards and athletic success

Mr. Rodenauer (speaker 6) reported enrollment at Alcoa Middle School is 525 students and highlighted spring accomplishments: awards ceremonies that recognized more than 285 students, state testing completion, a school fundraiser that raised over $16,000, a newly inducted Junior Beta Club with 74 members and athletic achievements including district championships for track and golf and a baseball regular-season district championship (17–1 record).
Carly Egan, music teacher (speaker 11), described growth in the middle-school performing-arts program from 24 students in year one to 56 this year under two teachers. She introduced Peyton Luhan (speaker 12), who performed a selection from Newsies Junior for the board.
Madison Costner (speaker 4) reported Family Resource Center totals: 336 unduplicated families served, 658 unduplicated students served, 1,087 direct services, about $46,427.13 in in-kind donations and roughly $40,000 in community grants. Costner said basic necessities such as food and clothing were top needs identified in her needs assessment and highlighted 135 community partnerships that supported services.
Board members offered praise for students, music and athletics during members' reports before adjourning.
