Uwchlan staff previews December agenda: 2025 budget, earned-income tax for open space and supervisor compensation

Staff said the 2025 budget has been advertised and a tax-rate resolution related to adoption will be on the agenda. Two ordinances are slated: one establishing an earned-income tax to fund open-space purposes (a short-quarter percent) and another to adjust supervisor compensation, noting a change in state law that would allow an increase up to $1,600 a year per supervisor. Staff also said the board will be asked to authorize advertising for the 2025 Taylor Road road-apex project (Taylor Road and adjacent streets) and to authorize hiring a road-department mechanic/laborer and rehiring a road-department laborer to reach full staffing.
A supervisor asked whether ongoing conversations with French and Pickering Creeks conservation interests would lead to an agenda item; staff said talks are continuing and the topic may appear on a future agenda. The budget is available for inspection at township offices and on the township website, and staff said social media and website tools explaining changes have been posted.
No formal votes were taken during the workshop preview; staff asked whether supervisors wanted to combine the January workshop with the reorganization meeting and to hold those at noon, and the board indicated a preference to combine and hold the reorganization at noon if needed.
