The Kossuth County Conservation Board handled routine business Sept. 8, approving minutes, bills and several administrative items before adjourning.
The board approved the August meeting minutes with an added notation listing absent board members after a motion by Ristau, seconded by Rasmussen. The Naturalist’s report noted nine public programs serving 117 participants and social-media reach metrics; the board approved ordering new staff/public t-shirts.
The board reviewed a repair estimate for the 2007 van from Smidt Auto and Repair LLC that included tires and brake work and requested an additional estimate from Kemco in Algona before approving repairs. The board approved exclusion dates for meeting-room rentals (Thanksgiving weekend Thursday–Sunday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the Saturday and Sunday adjacent to Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day) on a motion by Ristau, seconded by Rasmussen. The board set its October meeting for Monday, Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Water’s Edge Nature Center, approved 41 bills submitted for payment on a motion by Rasmussen, seconded by Miller, and adjourned on a motion by Ristau, seconded by Miller; all motions passed unanimously.
