Kossuth County Conservation Board approves minutes and bills, hears naturalist report

The Kossuth County Conservation Board opened its regular meeting on Aug. 11 at the Water’s Edge Nature Center and moved through routine business. A motion by Rasmussen, seconded by Ristau, to approve the July meeting minutes passed unanimously.
Naturalist Wille presented the Naturalist report, saying the department hosted nine public programs that served 146 people, provided 10 other student programs for 129 students and recorded 20 Facebook posts that reached 29,866 people with 2,472 engagements. Wille also listed recent operational activities including curriculum development, live animal care, work at the fair booth, campground recycling and attendance at board and staff meetings.
The board approved holding the September board meeting on Monday, Sept. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Water’s Edge Nature Center. Later, a motion by Ristau, seconded by Rasmussen, to approve 55 submitted bills passed unanimously. The meeting concluded following a motion by Ristau, seconded by Rasmussen, to adjourn, which passed unanimously.
The meeting minutes record no contested votes or policy decisions beyond routine approvals and status updates; no public-comment controversies are recorded.
