Brownsville officials report sewer and well work is underway; police log shows routine activity

Village of Brownsville public works and public safety updates were the main non-financial items at the board's Jan. 8 meeting.

Superintendent Lechner told trustees the village is preparing a 5-year sewer permit application and completing a Water/Sewer audit. A Municipal Well contractor is scheduled to remove, inspect and repair Well #1 in the coming weeks, Lechner said; the minutes noted the approved sludge site but provided no further sludge updates. The board authorized a modest increase in Dean Septic's holding tank discharge fee (from prior rates not specified in the minutes) to $16 for holding tank discharge and $26 for septic, and those rates were approved (motion by Trustee Dan Henke; second by Trustee John Pesch; motion carried 5-aye).
