Brownsville reports water-main repairs, Well No.1 work and completion of PSC and chloride reports

Village Superintendent Lechner updated the Village of Brownsville Board on water-system maintenance and reporting at the Feb. 12 meeting.
Lechner said the village completed its annual Public Service Commission and chloride reports and that the water/sewer audit is nearly finished. The superintendent told the board the village discussed a proposal regarding trade-plan credits for solar panels (a potential crediting approach to be considered by staff and the board).
Lechner reported the village experienced its first water main break of 2025 at a location identified as Michels; he said repairs have been completed. He also reported that Well No.1 was inspected, required repairs and that reassembly was expected the following week.
Separately, Lechner told the board that an improper spreadsheet layout had been submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in a filing that stated there was no lead in village water lines; the minutes record the submission error and that staff are addressing the filing layout issue.
The updates were provided as part of routine public works reporting; the board took no separate formal action on these items at the meeting.
