The Boyceville Admin Committee agreed to hold a working session at 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursday, March 16, to advance planning for a proposed community sledding hill and related 2023 project initiatives.
Committee members discussed the local housing market and a potential development project, noting that interest rates are rising even as housing supply remains tight. On the sledding-hill proposal, members identified several outstanding issues: choosing a site, determining construction materials and costs, whether to include a warming house, assessing safety risks, planning for community involvement and defining maintenance responsibilities. The Boy Scouts were mentioned as having expressed interest in participating in the project.
The working session will focus on narrowing location options and clarifying materials, safety and maintenance plans before any procurement or construction decisions are made. No formal motion or vote on project funding was taken at the meeting.
