Boaz trustees review sewer repairs, pump inventory and park maintenance needs

BOAZ, Wis. — At its March 10 meeting, the Village of Boaz Board of Trustees heard operational updates on sewer utility repairs, park and community building maintenance, spring clean-up logistics, and water sampling.
President Jean Nicks summarized the Boaz Sewer Utility’s current inventory: two new-style pumps on hand, one rebuilt pump, and two pumps at ASI for repair; two new alarm boxes and two new cables (not yet fitted with the correct ends). A new pump was installed at Station #28 (Pellett and Weston) on Feb. 13, 2026; the removed pump was sent to ASI for repair. The board discussed ordering additional receptacle connectors and directed President Nicks to confirm delivery details.
The board reviewed park maintenance priorities, including trenching for drainage by the ball diamond, removal of remaining old climbing equipment, and replacing a small picnic table in the shelter by the ball diamond with a bench in memory of Robert Drogsvold. Board members noted cameras will be installed when weather permits, and several picnic tables need repair. Village maintenance tasks identified included installing 911 signs and applying decals to the village pickup truck.
The clerk’s office reported that dumpsters for the Spring Clean-up were ordered with L&M Salvage and Republic Services and encouraged residents to contact Ken Nicks for hauling assistance; village maintenance staff will be available to help that day. The clerk also confirmed that a water sample for the community building and park was completed and results received; starting next year, village maintenance staff will be responsible for collecting the sample.
The board recorded no update on fence repairs at the sewer ponds and noted it has not yet received an agreement from the Sewer Operator. The meeting gave staff clear follow-up tasks but did not adopt additional formal policy changes on these operational items.
