Boaz trustees approve inspector contract, mowing agreement, wage increase and operator licenses

BOAZ, Wis. — The Village of Boaz Board of Trustees approved several administrative actions at its March 10 regular meeting, including a draft contract for a dwelling-code inspector, a park mowing contract, personnel pay changes and two operator’s licenses.
President Jean Nicks called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Trustee Kathy Hansen moved to approve the draft contract from GEC of Portage to serve as the village’s Unified Dwelling Code Inspector; Trustee Judy Adrian seconded and the motion carried. Clerk/Treasurer Kaela Townsend was instructed to email GEC to obtain the finalized contract.
The board awarded the village’s 2026 park mowing work to KW Lawn Care LLC after the Clerk/Treasurer’s office received two quotes. Trustee Hansen moved to enter into agreement 2026-2 with KW Lawn Care; Trustee Adrian seconded and the motion carried.
The trustees also approved a personnel action for the deputy clerk/treasurer. President Nicks moved to set the deputy clerk/treasurer wage at $16 per hour effective immediately, with an increase to $17 per hour after a six-month satisfactory review; Trustee Hansen seconded and the motion carried.
In routine administrative business, Trustee Hansen moved to grant operator’s licenses to Nicole A. Sillman and Amy J. Skarda; Trustee Adrian seconded and the motion carried. The board also appointed Richard Wilson as first alternate and Milt Schott as second alternate for the Board of Review following a motion by Trustee Hansen and a second by Trustee Adrian.
Financial business included approval of the February financial reports and authorization to pay the bills; both motions were made and seconded by trustees and recorded as carried. The minutes show motions carried but do not record individual vote tallies.
The board confirmed its next regular meeting for April 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Boaz Community Building. The meeting adjourned at 7:49 p.m.
