Board approves DPW working agreement, separation with police chief and $193,440.78 in bills

The Village Board approved several personnel and financial items at its meeting, including a working agreement for the DPW superintendent, a separation agreement with Chief Scott Sadowski, and accounts payable totaling $193,440.78.

On payroll and personnel, the Chair presented the DPW superintendent working agreement covering compensation for reporting outside regular shifts, Sunday and holiday pay, vacation and standard benefits. A board member characterized the package as routine: “It’s pretty it’s a pretty standard employment package,” and the board moved to accept the agreement.

The board also considered a separation agreement and release with Chief Scott Sadowski that formalized previously approved payouts for sick time, holiday pay and vacation. The Chair said the payouts had been paid out previously and the agreement is intended to provide a formal release; the motion to approve the separation agreement carried by voice vote.

On bills, the treasurer provided a breakdown of accounts payable: a Nov. 20 batch ($58,762.61), a Dec. 5 batch ($83,468.53) and today’s bills ($40,006.18), which together equaled the $193,440.78 payment the board approved. The Chair moved to approve the bills and the board approved the motion by voice vote; no roll-call tally is recorded in the transcript.

Separately, the Chair reported that the Police & Fire Commission is interviewing candidates for the police chief position; no hire was announced.
