The Village of Bloomington Board voted on a slate of routine and operational items at its Oct. 6 regular meeting.
Trustees approved the agenda and the Sept. 2 meeting minutes. The board approved accounts payable for September 2025 after Clerk Atterbury reported total expenditures of $48,123.27 across funds (general fund $24,622.38; water $6,320.68; sewer $17,180.21).
The board unanimously approved two engagement letters from Johnson Block and Company, Inc. for year‑end and PSC compilation services for the water utility. Trustees also voted to forward an updated utility ordinance, including reviewed water and sewer schedules, to Attorney Wood for final adjustment once rates were verified by Delta 3.
On public works, trustees authorized a $5,000 commitment to Safe Step Safe Sidewalk Solutions to begin grinding‑first sidewalk repairs in 2026 and approved a contractor quote of $1,500 to fix a sidewalk lip by the Legion building. The board instructed Director of Public Works Leitzinger to prepare cost estimates and a plan for potentially eliminating some sidewalks.
Other approved items included setting village trick‑or‑treat hours on Oct. 31 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., authorizing an ACH transfer for monthly Delta Dental premiums, and approving Finance Committee minutes from Sept. 23, 2025. The board agreed to extend the utility bill due date to Oct. 27 because bills will be mailed later than usual.
Following a closed session to consider personnel matters under Wis. Stat. 19.85, trustees reconvened and approved wage increases for village and library employees as recommended during the closed session.
All recorded motions at the meeting passed unanimously by the trustees present.
