Village plans AED placements and schedules meeting to review new fire engine quotes

Agency official (S5) told the board on Feb. 10 that the department expects to secure grants and donations to purchase automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for village parks and that locations have been picked. “We’ll be able to secure some grants and donations so that AEDs for the parks are purchased,” S5 said, adding that devices would be logged with the sheriff’s department and set up for public access.
S5 said the rescue squad AED for which the board budgeted last year is in final vendor pricing review; extended warranty options and optional features were being negotiated and an invoice copy would be provided to Vicky before ordering; lead time is about three weeks.
The board scheduled a joint meeting with the fire department on Feb. 26 at 07:00 (at the firehouse) to review engine quotes and related equipment budgeting before any major purchases are finalized.
