Adelanto planning commission continues two conditional use permit hearings for vehicle sales and rentals

The Adelanto Planning Commission Parks and Recreation on July 1, 2026 voted to continue two public hearings for proposed conditional use permits to allow additional review of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents.
Planning staff Naika described the first project, Conditional Use Permit 2301, as a proposal to establish sales and rentals of new and used automotive vehicles, recreational vehicles, boats, motorcycles and trucks on multiple parcels totaling about 66 acres in the manufacturing/industrial zone at the northwest corner of Cactus Road and Raccoon Street in Adelanto. Naika told the commission, "Staff recommendation is continue the items to a future planning commission meeting date to allow for sufficient time and review of the CEQA documents." Chair Wagner moved to continue the item; the motion passed on a voice vote.
The commission then considered Conditional Use Permit 2302, a similar proposal for vehicle sales and rentals on multiple parcels totaling about 18 acres at the southeast corner of Koala Road and Holly Road in Adelanto. Naika again recommended continuation for CEQA review. Commissioner Johnson said, "I make a motion that we take staff's recommendation," Chair Wagner seconded, and the commission voted to continue the item to a future meeting.
Both continuances were made to allow staff and the commission additional time to review CEQA materials; no new hearing dates were announced at the meeting. Public comment was not opened on either item during the hearing because, as the chair noted earlier, no callers or in-person speakers had signed up for the items. The commission is expected to place the items on a future agenda after staff completes or circulates the required environmental review materials.
