Engineers recommended a large culvert covered with dirt and rock to accommodate horses; she estimated the culvert option—design and implementation at about $70,000 and said the Parks Foundation might be asked to help with the extra expense. Jeremy told the board any county funds would need board approval.
On recreation improvements, Jeremy said staff applied to the HFL Health Foundation to add nine holes to the Creek Ridge disc-golf course, expanding it from nine to 18 holes to attract more visitors. She also said the truck purchase is delayed until September or October while the vendor outfits the vehicle.
Regarding grants, Jeremy recounted a 200-page USDA Hunt Lake application that failed submission because a required form was missing; she said the department has assembled the materials and plans to reapply next year.
The board did not vote on the Bloom Creek design at this meeting; Jeremy asked members to review the DNR email and noted the foundation or board would need to approve any cost-sharing before work proceeds.
