The Chickasaw County Board voted July 6 to approve a fiscal-year 2026–27 wage of $25.65 per hour for EMS employee Sharon E. Wilberg.
Board secretary Sheila Sheckleton explained staff identified an insurance-related data error while entering wages into the system and noted Wilberg had received a position change during the year that increased her wage. The board moved to approve the corrected wage for payroll. "Motion by Scott, same by Isaac, to approve the fiscal year 2627 wage for Sharon E. Wilberg, EMS department at $25.65 per hour," the chair said. Roll call recorded aye votes from Scott, Isaac, Travis and Jake; the motion carried with one absence.
Why it matters: The vote corrects payroll records for a public-safety employee and ensures pay aligns with position and personnel records.
Next steps: Payroll staff will process the approved wage change for the upcoming fiscal year.
