Chickasaw County authorizes Iowa DOT federal-aid agreements for two bridge replacements

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors voted July 6 to authorize the chair to sign Iowa Department of Transportation federal-aid agreements for two Competitive Highway Bridge Program projects.
County engineer Roman Grama told the board the two bridge replacements are estimated at $1,670,680 and $528,000, for about $2.2 million in project costs. "These would be left tentatively in January, constructed around this time next year," Grama said, and the county expects up to an 80 percent federal reimbursement on eligible costs.
Board members moved and seconded the motion to approve the agreement; the board recorded aye votes from Scott, Travis, Isaac and Jake and carried the motion with one supervisor absent.

Details: Grama said the larger project would cover a bridge he identified with configuration details and the smaller project would address a short span over a small stream; final project numbers and schedules will be formalized in the DOT agreement documents.
