A village staff member updated the Village Board on the ongoing sewer and water relay project affecting North Street, Elevator Lane, Elm Street, Liberty Street and Commerce Park.
"All the laterals and everything are done on North Street and Elevator Lane," Bob said, reporting that lateral work is finished in those locations and that an Elm Street lateral crew will begin work the next day. He told the board the water main on Elm Street should be started "sometime this week or next week," and that weather has delayed work by approximately five days.
Bob said the village has a contractor scheduling meeting planned to coordinate paving and other follow-up work. "We have a meeting set up this week...with the contractor," he said, noting rain-related delays and an upcoming coordination meeting to set paving dates.
The report did not include a new completion date; the speaker said the project has a deadline and that the village would "see what that brings in." The board later approved a certificate for payment to the contractor for work performed through August 2021.
Next steps: the contractor coordination meeting will set paving schedules; the board approved the payment for completed work through August.
