Village Board approves zoning limits for communication structures, discontinues Progress Court, adopts ward map and confirms appointments and payment

The Village Board on Monday approved a package of ordinances, resolutions, an appointment and a construction payment during a regularly scheduled meeting.

Chair opened the new-business section by presenting Ordinance 16-21, an amendment to section 270-52.d that restricts communication structures in residential districts. "Radio and television transmission and relay towers, aerials, radio and television receiving and transmitting antennas shall not exceed a height equal to their distance from the nearest lot line and in no event shall exceed 50 feet in height," the Chair said as part of the ordinance summary. A board member moved the ordinance; it carried on a voice vote.

The board also adopted Resolution 18-21 discontinuing the public way known as Progress Court and incorporating that area into the surrounding lot, following the plan commission's recommendation. A separate motion approved Resolution 23-21, which establishes village wards and a voting warden map "contingent upon county final approval," the Chair said.

Trustee Roseanne Guy was appointed to serve on the plan commission for the remainder of a term ending April 2022 after a motion and second. The board then approved certificate for partial payment number 2 to Kip Golsa Construction Company in the amount of $499,930.45 for work performed through August 2021.

All votes on the items in the new-business block were completed by voice vote with motions moved and seconded; the record shows the motions passed. No roll-call tallies were read into the record.

Next steps: the ward map adoption is contingent on county approval; the plan commission appointment is effective immediately through April 2022. The board adjourned at the end of the agenda.
