Gold Cross reports 343 911 responses in 2025, adds ambulance and earns AHA Gold Award

Ben Coenen, representing Gold Cross, presented the agency’s 2025 annual report to the Weyauwega Common Council on Jan. 19. Gold Cross responded to 343 911 calls in its western service area in 2025 with an average response time of 7 minutes, 22 seconds. Clinical highlights included four stroke calls, one STEMI, one trauma and four cardiac arrests; the service also logged 195 non-emergency calls and participated in 28 community events.
Coenen told the council Gold Cross added a fifth ambulance in 2025, based out of Waupaca, and that the service received the American Heart Association Gold Award for Cardiac and Stroke Care. The report provides local officials with updated EMS capacity and performance metrics relevant to public-safety planning.
