Village schedules January public hearing on revised stormwater regulations after outside-engineer review

At the Dec. 8 work session, a staff member updated trustees that the village's proposed stormwater regulations have been referred to the flood mitigation committee and reviewed by two outside engineers, and that comments will be incorporated into a revised draft. "We do have the public hearing scheduled for January," the staff member said, adding that the consultant will attend to explain technical aspects.
The staff member said the engineering comments will be incorporated and that residents and trustees who have questions should email Dennis so staff can forward them to the consultant in advance. Trustees discussed coordinating with the neighboring town, which is also reviewing stormwater rules, to avoid contractor confusion and share lessons learned.
The village indicated it aims to have a revised set of regulations ready for the January meeting; if the draft is not ready, the board may adjourn consideration to the second meeting in January or reschedule the hearing.
