Clerk-Treasurer Carol Blawat reported several administrative and community updates at the Nov. 11 meeting. She said the Nov. 5 election went smoothly, and that a donation request by resident Beth McCarthy to the Sonnentag Foundation yielded $2,046 toward cement work for the ball-field dugout.
Blawat also said the village received approval for early reimbursement related to a generator grant. She told the board the down-payment the village made to Schulz Heating will be reimbursed from the grant, and the village will receive $42,725 back from the grant funds.
In operational reports, Public Works Director Scott Popelka said staff completed winter shutdown tasks at the ball park, will close the new park bathrooms near the pavilion for the season, replaced a 2-inch meter head at the school, intends to unhook the fishing pier and remove the boat launch, and is addressing a fuel leak on an older tractor. Popelka reported the brush pile has been burned, pond discharge is ongoing, and crews are preparing plow trucks for winter.
Trustee and community items included reading of fire-department minutes (Chief Tegen and Trustee Skarlupka) and zoning activity: Listle reported a permit for 1240 Lake St. Trustee Patsy Listle also said she will coordinate placing a village tree at the White Lake Historical Society, and resident Patty Kamin offered to help produce a monthly village newsletter.
