White Lake trustees adopt $410,000 2025 budget and set $125,511 tax levy; several operational items approved

The Village of White Lake board unanimously approved the village’s 2025 budget at its Nov. 11 meeting, setting the tax levy at $125,511.
Trustee Frank Skarlupka moved to adopt the $410,000 budget and Trustee Patsy Listle seconded; the motion passed with all trustees voting in favor. The board approved the corresponding 2025 tax levy of $125,511 on a separate motion by Listle, seconded by Skarlupka.
Why it matters: The levy and budget authorize the village’s revenue and spending plan for the coming year and determine local property-tax collections. The board conducted the required public budget hearing before voting; no public comments were recorded during the hearing.
The meeting also approved several routine and operational items. The board voted to purchase Workhorse Accounting & Payroll software with a $2,000 down payment due by Dec. 31, 2024 and two subsequent $7,100 payments in 2025 and 2026. Trustee Patsy Listle sponsored that motion; Trustee Frank Skarlupka seconded it and the motion carried unanimously.
Trustees also approved an update to the Cross Connection Control Ordinance (section 30-53). Trustee Skarlupka moved the ordinance update and Trustee Listle seconded; the board voted unanimously to adopt it.
A water-rate action passed as well: the board adopted Water Rate Case Resolution 2024-02 to allocate 25% of Public Fire Protection fees to direct-pay Village of White Lake water-utility customers based on meter size, consistent with a Public Service Commission rate-case application. Trustee Skarlupka moved the resolution; Trustee Listle seconded and the vote was unanimous.
